Free Online Video Editor
Trim, merge, crop, add text and music — no upload
To edit a video online, open a clip above, then trim, split or merge clips on the timeline, crop to 16:9, 9:16 or 1:1, rotate, change speed, mute or add music, and add text, subtitles or a logo. Export as MP4, WebM or GIF at 480p–1080p. Rendering happens on your device, so nothing is uploaded.

How to make a video editor
Add clips
Open a video, then use Add clips to merge more. Reorder them on the timeline.
Edit
Trim and split, crop and rotate, change speed, adjust audio, add captions, subtitles and a logo.
Export
Choose MP4, WebM or GIF, a resolution and optionally a target size, then render.
What you can do
Trim each clip's start and end, split at the playhead, remove a section from the middle, and join several clips in any order. Crop to vertical 9:16 for Reels, Shorts and TikTok, square 1:1 or portrait 4:5 for feeds, either with black bars or by filling the frame. Rotate and flip, play from 0.25× to 4× (with natural-sounding audio) or reverse short clips, mute or set the original volume, add looping background music, a caption, burned-in .srt subtitles and a logo watermark.
How rendering works
Fylo builds a single ffmpeg filter graph from your edits and renders it with ffmpeg compiled to WebAssembly in your browser. The preview shows an approximation; the exported file is the exact render. Rendering is CPU-intensive: short phone clips take seconds to a minute, while long 1080p projects can take several minutes on a laptop — the price of never uploading your videos.
| Format | Sound | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| MP4 (H.264) | Yes | Everything — social, phones, email |
| WebM (VP8) | Yes | Web pages |
| GIF | No | Short loops, chats |
Frequently asked questions
Is there a watermark?
No. Only logos or text you add yourself.
How long can my video be?
There's no fixed limit; your device's memory and patience are the practical limits. Keep reversed sections under 60 seconds.
Can I edit on my phone?
Yes, though rendering is slower than on a laptop. Tools sit in a bottom bar on phones.
Which formats can I open?
MP4, MOV, WebM, MKV, AVI, FLV, WMV and 3GP. Some can't be previewed in the browser but are still included in the export.
Can I add more than one clip?
Yes — use Add clips, then reorder, trim, split or duplicate them on the timeline.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. Video Editor runs entirely in your browser — your files are processed on your own device and never sent anywhere. Once the page has loaded, it even keeps working if your connection drops.
