When you need CSV
Database imports, CRMs, email marketing tools, analytics platforms and programming languages all speak CSV. Converting from Excel removes formulas, formatting and charts, leaving just the values — exactly what import tools expect.
What's exported
Each sheet is saved as its own CSV named after the workbook and sheet. Formulas are exported as their calculated values, using the number formatting shown in Excel. Empty trailing rows are skipped. Merged cells keep their value in the top-left cell only, and charts and images aren't exported.
Character encoding
Fylo saves CSV as UTF-8, so names with accents and non-Latin scripts are preserved. Some older versions of Excel assume a different encoding when opening CSV directly; if text looks garbled in Excel, use Data → From Text/CSV and choose UTF-8, or simply import the file into your database or tool, which almost always expects UTF-8.

Frequently asked questions
Are formulas kept?
No — CSV holds values only, so each formula's last calculated result is exported.
Can I export all sheets at once?
Yes, choose Every sheet; you'll get one CSV per sheet.
Which delimiter is used?
Commas, with quotes around values that contain commas or line breaks.
Does it work with .xls files?
This tool is tuned for .xlsx; older .xls may work but isn't guaranteed.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. XLSX to CSV runs entirely in your browser — your files are processed on your own device and never sent anywhere. Once the page has loaded, it even keeps working if your connection drops.
