Flip Image Online (Mirror)

Mirror photos horizontally or vertically

To flip an image, open it above and click Flip horizontal to mirror it left-to-right, or Flip vertical to turn it upside down like a reflection. Then export in your preferred format. It's free, instant and private — the photo stays on your device.

How to make a flip image

  1. Open the image

Choose the photo you want to mirror.

  2. Flip it

Use Flip horizontal (left ↔ right) or Flip vertical (top ↔ bottom).

  3. Export

Download as JPG, PNG, WebP or AVIF.

Fixing mirrored selfies

Front cameras often save selfies as a mirror image, so writing on a T-shirt or a sign in the background reads backwards. A horizontal flip puts everything the right way round — exactly how other people see you. Product photos and screenshots of text taken in mirrors benefit from the same fix.

Creative uses

Flipping is also handy for design: making a portrait face into the page, creating symmetrical compositions, or building reflection effects by duplicating an image with Add image and flipping the copy vertically. Text you add afterwards isn't mirrored, so captions stay readable.

Flip and rotate combined

Flipping and rotating can be combined to reach any of the eight possible orientations of a picture. A horizontal flip followed by a 90° rotation, for example, transposes the image — useful for scans fed through a scanner the wrong way. The editor applies each step to the pixels in order, so what you see on screen is exactly what you export.

Flipping is also a quick fix for photos of documents or whiteboards taken through glass or in a mirror, where the writing appears backwards. After flipping, crop away the edges and increase contrast under Adjust to make the text easier to read.

What's the difference between flip and rotate?

Rotating turns the image around its centre; flipping mirrors it, reversing left and right (or top and bottom).

Does flipping reduce quality?

No — pixels are only rearranged. Export compression is the only thing that affects quality.

Are added text and stickers flipped too?

Their positions mirror with the photo so the layout stays consistent; text stays readable.

Can I flip a PDF page?

Not yet; you can rotate PDF pages with Rotate PDF.

Can I flip only part of the image?

The flip applies to the whole photo. To mirror a single element, add it with Add image and flip that layer.

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. Flip Image runs entirely in your browser — your files are processed on your own device and never sent anywhere. Once the page has loaded, it even keeps working if your connection drops.
