What each adjustment does
Brightness lifts or darkens the whole image; Contrast stretches the gap between lights and darks; Saturation strengthens or mutes colour; Exposure works like a camera's exposure dial, multiplying light so highlights brighten faster; Warmth shifts colours toward golden or blue; Sharpen enhances edges; Blur softens the whole picture. Filters and sliders stack, and the filter preview runs on your graphics card for instant feedback.
Filters for common looks
Mono and B&W suit portraits and street photography; Sepia, Vintage and Brownie recreate old prints; Kodachrome and Technicolor mimic classic film stocks; Polaroid adds instant-camera tones; Warm flatters skin and sunsets while Cool suits snow and city scenes; Vivid boosts dull phone photos; Fade gives a soft, matte, modern look.
Getting a natural result
Most photos look best with small changes: a touch of contrast and saturation, slight warmth for skin and sunsets, and a little sharpening for phone photos viewed on large screens. If you use a strong filter, lower saturation or exposure afterwards to keep highlights from clipping. Compare against the Original filter now and then to make sure you're improving the photo, not just changing it.
| Filter | Look | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| B&W / Mono | Black and white | Portraits, architecture |
| Vintage / Sepia | Old print | Nostalgic posts |
| Kodachrome | Rich film colour | Travel, landscapes |
| Warm / Cool | Golden / blue tint | Sunsets / snow, cities |
| Vivid | Punchy colour | Dull phone photos |
| Fade | Soft matte | Lifestyle, Instagram |
Frequently asked questions
Can I combine a filter with adjustments?
Yes — pick a filter, then use the Adjust sliders on top.
Do filters reduce quality?
They change colours but not resolution. Export at high quality to keep detail.
Are filters applied to text and stickers?
No, only to the photo; added layers keep their colours.
Can I reset everything?
Choose Original and click Reset adjustments.
Do filters work on HEIC photos?
Yes — HEIC photos are decoded in your browser first, so every filter and adjustment is available.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. Photo Filters runs entirely in your browser — your files are processed on your own device and never sent anywhere. Once the page has loaded, it even keeps working if your connection drops.
