Type anywhere on a PDF — real, searchable text

To add text to a PDF, open it above — a text box appears on the first page. Click it to type, drag it into place, and set font, size, colour and bold in the Selected panel. Add more text on any page, then click Save PDF. Latin text is saved as real, searchable PDF text. Nothing is uploaded.

Searchable, sharp text

Fylo writes your text into the PDF using the standard PDF fonts — Helvetica, Times and Courier — so it's crisp at any zoom, selectable, searchable and tiny in file size. Text in scripts those fonts don't cover (for example Hindi, Arabic or Chinese) is still added, rendered as a high-resolution image layer so it looks right.

Typical uses

Fill in non-interactive forms, add a date next to a signature, annotate a contract with comments, label a diagram, or add a note to a scanned receipt. To replace existing text, combine with Whiteout.

Lining up text with form lines

Zoom in before placing text so you can sit it neatly on a line or inside a box. Use a size close to the surrounding print — usually 10 to 12 points — and Helvetica for modern forms or Times for older, serif documents. For many similar fields, add one text box, style it, then duplicate it with copy and paste and move the copies into place.

Text you add is saved on top of the page, so it prints exactly as it appears on screen in every PDF reader.
