Fill PDF Forms Online

Type into form fields, then flatten — free

To fill a PDF form, open it above; Fylo lists every fillable field — text boxes, checkboxes, dropdowns and radio buttons — in the Forms panel. Fill them in, optionally tick Flatten to lock the answers, and click Save PDF. For forms without fields, type anywhere with the Text tool. Nothing is uploaded.

How to make a fill pdf form

  1. Open the form

    Choose the PDF form.

  2. Fill the fields

Complete the fields in the Forms panel, or use Text for non-interactive forms. Add a signature if needed.

  3. Save

Optionally flatten, then click Save PDF.

Interactive vs flat forms

Interactive PDF forms (AcroForms) contain real fields that Fylo reads with pdf-lib and lists by name in the Forms panel. Many forms, though, are just printed layouts saved as PDF — scans or exports without fields. For those, use the Text tool to type answers onto the lines, Checkboxes can be ticked with a ✓ or ✗ typed in the box.

When to flatten

Flattening converts filled fields into ordinary page content so they can't be changed accidentally — useful when submitting applications or sharing a final copy. Leave it unticked if the recipient needs to edit the form. Reordering or inserting pages flattens the form automatically, because interactive fields can't be copied between documents reliably.

Tips for official forms

Read the form's instructions before filling it in: many ask for capital letters, a particular date format or black ink. Fill in every required field, add your signature with the Sign tool, then save and reopen the file to check your answers before submitting. If a portal rejects the file for size, run it through Compress PDF after filling.

Why does the Forms panel say there are no fields?

The PDF has no interactive fields. Use the Text tool to type on it.

Are field names shown as labels?

Fylo shows each field's internal name, which is usually descriptive (like 'FirstName').

Can I sign the form too?

Yes — use Sign in the tools.

Is my data saved anywhere?

No. Form values exist only in your browser until you save the PDF.

Can I save a half-filled form and finish later?

Yes. Save the PDF without flattening, then open the saved file again later to continue filling the fields.

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. Fill PDF Form runs entirely in your browser — your files are processed on your own device and never sent anywhere. Once the page has loaded, it even keeps working if your connection drops.
