Draw, type or upload your signature — no upload
To sign a PDF, open it above — the signature panel opens automatically. Draw your signature with a mouse or finger, type it in a handwriting font, or upload a photo of it (the paper background is removed). Place and resize it on the page, add the date with the Text tool, and click Save PDF.

How to make a sign pdf
Open the PDF
Choose the document to sign.
Create and place your signature
Draw, type or upload it, then drag it onto the signature line and resize. Add the date with Text.
Save PDF
Download the signed document.
Your signature stays on your device
Signatures you create are saved in this browser's local storage so you can reuse them next time — they're never uploaded to Fylo or anyone else, and the document you sign is processed entirely in your browser. You can delete saved signatures at any time from the Saved tab.
Electronic signature vs digital certificate
Placing an image of your signature creates a simple electronic signature, which is accepted for many everyday agreements, forms and letters. It's different from a cryptographic digital signature (certificate-based, as used for some government and legal filings), which Fylo doesn't create. Check what the recipient requires.
Placing your signature well
Zoom in on the signature line before placing your signature so you can line it up accurately, and size it to match the space — signatures that spill over printed text look careless. Add your printed name and the date beside it with the Text tool if the document asks for them. For multi-page agreements that need initials on every page, place your initials in the same corner on each page for a tidy result.
Check that you're signing the final version: once a PDF is signed and sent, any change means signing again.
Frequently asked questions
Can I sign on my phone?
Yes — draw with your finger in the signature pad.
Can I add initials on every page?
Create an initials signature and place it on each page using the page arrows.
Will the signature look transparent?
Yes — drawn and typed signatures have transparent backgrounds; uploaded photos have white paper removed automatically.
Is this a legally binding signature?
Simple electronic signatures are valid for many purposes in many countries, but requirements vary. Check with the recipient for legal documents.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. Sign PDF runs entirely in your browser — your files are processed on your own device and never sent anywhere. Once the page has loaded, it even keeps working if your connection drops.
