Logos, stamps and photos
Common uses include adding a company logo to letterhead, a 'PAID' or 'APPROVED' stamp image to invoices, a passport photo to an application form, or a photo of a signature. PNG images with transparent backgrounds sit cleanly on the page without a white box.
Image quality in the PDF
Images are drawn into the page at twice the page's display resolution, which prints sharply for logos, stamps and signatures. For full-page photos, JPG to PDF keeps the original image data instead.
Preparing images for PDFs
For logos and stamps, use a PNG with a transparent background so only the artwork appears on the page; if your logo has a white box around it, the image editor's export can save it as PNG and you can crop it tight first. Photos for application forms should be cropped to the requested ratio before adding — the Crop Image tool has a passport preset. Keep image layers on top of text you want to cover, and place them below or beside text you want to keep readable.
You can also add the same image to several pages, such as a company logo on every page of a quote.
Frequently asked questions
Which image formats can I add?
PNG, JPG, WebP and GIF.
Can I make the image semi-transparent?
Yes, use the Opacity slider in the Selected panel.
Can I add an image to every page?
Add it on each page. For text on every page, use Stamps (watermark, header, footer).
Will the PDF get much bigger?
Pages with added images grow by roughly the size of the overlay; logos add little.
Can I rotate an image on the page?
Yes, drag the rotation handle; the angle is kept when you save.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. Add Image to PDF runs entirely in your browser — your files are processed on your own device and never sent anywhere. Once the page has loaded, it even keeps working if your connection drops.
