Rotate Video Online
Fix sideways or upside-down videos permanently
To rotate a video, open it above and click Rotate 90° until it's upright (twice for upside-down videos). Use Flip to fix mirrored footage. Then export — the rotation is rendered into the picture, so the video plays the right way in every player and app. No upload, no watermark.

Why videos end up sideways
Phones record a rotation flag in the file rather than rotating the frames. Some players, editors, smart TVs and websites ignore that flag and show the video sideways. Fylo renders the rotation into the actual frames, so the video is upright everywhere, whatever the player does with metadata.
Rotate and reframe together
After rotating, a vertical phone video may need a vertical frame: choose 9:16 under Aspect ratio to keep it full-screen, or 16:9 with Fit to place it on a landscape frame with bars for YouTube.
Upside-down and mirrored footage
Videos filmed with the phone held upside down need two 90° turns. Front-camera recordings and some screen-capture or webcam tools produce mirrored footage where text reads backwards; Flip horizontally fixes this, and you can combine flip and rotate in the same export.
Rotation is applied to every clip in your project at once, so if you're merging footage from several phones, rotate them separately first and then merge the corrected files.
Frequently asked questions
Can I rotate by 45°?
Only 90° steps are supported.
Does rotating reduce quality?
The video is re-encoded once at good quality; choose 1080p for HD sources.
Can I rotate only part of a video?
Rotation applies to the whole export; split it into separate projects if needed.
Is audio kept?
Yes.
Which formats can I rotate?
MP4, MOV, WebM, MKV, AVI, 3GP and more. The rotated video is saved as MP4, WebM or GIF, whichever you choose in Export.
Can I fix a video that's sideways only on some players?
Yes. Rendering the rotation into the frames makes the video upright on every player, whatever metadata it reads.

Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. Rotate Video runs entirely in your browser — your files are processed on your own device and never sent anywhere. Once the page has loaded, it even keeps working if your connection drops.
