How to make a online word editor
Start writing
Start a blank document, or open .docx, .txt or .md.
Format
Use the toolbar for headings, sizes, colours, alignment, lists and tables.
Save
Download as DOCX, PDF, TXT, Markdown or HTML.
Write a CV, letter or report
Use Heading 1 for your name or title and Heading 2 for sections, bullets for skills and achievements, and a table for dates and roles. Choose A4 or US Letter page width to see how lines will fall, then save a PDF for applications and a .docx for anyone who needs to edit it.
Why it's different from cloud editors
Cloud word processors store your document on their servers and require an account. Fylo's editor keeps everything on your device: there's no sign-in, nothing to sync, and your document is autosaved locally so a refresh doesn't lose work. It's a good fit for sensitive documents and shared or public computers (clear your browser data afterwards).
Formatting tools at a glance
The toolbar groups everything you need for everyday documents: paragraph styles from normal text to three heading levels, font size and colour, bold, italic, underline and strikethrough, left, centre, right and justified alignment, bulleted and numbered lists, block quotes, links, images and tables. On phones the toolbar sits at the bottom of the screen, within reach of your thumb.
When you're finished, choose a format and click Save. DOCX keeps everything editable; PDF fixes the layout for printing and sharing.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need an account?
No.
Can I insert tables?
Yes — insert a table, then add or remove rows and columns from the toolbar.
Is there spell check?
Your browser's built-in spell checker underlines mistakes.
Can I print?
Save as PDF and print it, for consistent page layout.
Does it work offline?
Once the page has loaded, you can keep writing without a connection, and autosave keeps working.
