Unzip Files Online — Extract ZIP

Open ZIP archives and download any file inside

To unzip a file online, drop your .zip above and click Extract. Fylo opens it with libarchive running in your browser, lists every file with its folder path, and lets you download single files or all of them. It's handy on Chromebooks, work computers and phones — and the archive is never uploaded.

Extract on any device

Phones, tablets, locked-down work PCs and Chromebooks sometimes can't open archives or install apps. Fylo extracts in the browser using libarchive — the same open-source library behind many command-line tools — compiled to WebAssembly. A 500 MB ZIP extracts in a few seconds on a modern laptop.

Large and protected archives

Each file is listed with its full path, so you can grab just what you need. Password-protected ZIPs are supported: enter the password under Advanced (it's never saved). Very large archives depend on your device's memory, because extracted files are held in the browser until you download them.

Why unzip in the browser?

On a Chromebook, a work laptop without admin rights, or a phone, installing an extraction app isn't always possible — and uploading a ZIP of personal documents to an online unzip service means trusting a stranger's server. Fylo extracts on your device, so payslips, IDs, photos and contracts stay private.
