Audio Cutter — Trim MP3 & Audio Online

Trim any audio to the exact second

To cut audio, drop your MP3, WAV, M4A or other file above, play it and set the start and end — type the times, drag the sliders or use the playhead buttons — then click Cut audio. Fylo trims it to a tenth of a second in your browser, with optional fade in and out. Nothing is uploaded.

How to make a audio cutter

  1. Add your audio

Drop one audio (or video) file into the box.

  2. Choose start and end

Play the file and set the start and end from the playhead, the sliders or the time fields. Use Play selection to check.

  3. Cut and download

Click Cut audio. The clip keeps the original format (video files become MP3).

Precise trimming in your browser

Fylo decodes the audio from the start time and re-encodes exactly the length you selected, so cuts land precisely rather than snapping to the nearest MP3 frame or keyframe. The output keeps your file's format — MP3 stays MP3, WAV stays WAV — and video files produce an MP3 of the selected section.

Fades and clean edges

Cutting in the middle of a sound can produce a click. Turn on Fade in and Fade out under Advanced to ramp the volume over up to a second at each end, which makes clips for intros, alarms, podcasts and presentations sound polished. For phone ringtones, the Ringtone Maker adds fades automatically and limits the length to 30 seconds.

Which formats can I cut?

MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, OGG, FLAC, Opus, WMA and AIFF, plus the audio from video files.

Does cutting reduce quality?

Lossless formats stay lossless. Lossy formats are re-encoded once at a high bitrate, which is inaudible for most listeners.

Can I cut several parts at once?

One selection at a time. Run the cutter again for another section.

Why doesn't my file preview?

Some formats like WMA can't play in every browser. You can still type start and end times and cut.

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. Audio Cutter runs entirely in your browser — your files are processed on your own device and never sent anywhere. Once the page has loaded, it even keeps working if your connection drops.
