Why turn text into PDF?

PDF looks the same on every device and printer, and many portals, teachers and clients ask for PDF rather than .txt. Converting is also a quick way to print logs, transcripts or lyrics with consistent margins and page numbers.

How the layout works

Each line of your file becomes a line in the PDF; blank lines are kept and leading spaces are preserved, so indented notes and simple text tables stay aligned as much as a proportional font allows. Long lines wrap at the page margin. Text is set at 11 pt by default with page numbers in the footer.

Code, logs and transcripts

Plain text often contains long lines — stack traces, URLs, CSV rows — that wrap at the page margin in the PDF so nothing is cut off. If you're printing source code or logs and want more on each line, lower the font size under Advanced. Transcripts and notes are easiest to read at 11–12 pt.
